Alternative Energy Healing Sessions in NYC
In addition to teaching the alternative energy healing Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu, Anita sees clients for healing sessions on a daily basis in her SoHo, NYC-based work-home loft.
Sessions typically last an hour. Clients relax, fully clothed, on their backs on a foam topped massage-style table. Anita applies her hands gently to specific areas of the body. There is no manipulation of skin or muscle, or pressure.
People receive Jin Shin Jyutsu sessions, often an on-going basis, to address 'projects' across the spectrum: physical, emotional, mental. Peruse the site and check out the videos to learn more about this amazing Art!

Some frequently asked questions about alternative energy healing, and specifically Jin Shin Jyutsu include:
What is Jin Shin Jyutsu?
Jin Shin Jyutsu is a physio-philosophy. “Physio” is a root word which means nature or natural and philosophy was a word coined by Pythagoras, which means love of wisdom. Wisdom is knowledge which is incorporated into the body, mind and soul, on all three levels. JSJ harmonizes the thought level, or the invisible energetic level.
Is it like Reiki? What’s the difference?
JSJ and Reiki came from Japan after World War 2 and are both forms of alternative energy healing. Their creation stories are similar and they both work on the invisible level of energy. From my understanding Reiki has a basic formula for each client while JSJ listens to the pulses and listens to the story of each client. Each person is then given a session based on their own story. Much as each snowflake is different, so is each human individual.
What are the reasons people receive Jin Shin Jyutsu?
People come to JSJ for any and many reasons. To help harmonize physical projects, mental projects and spiritual issues.
What do you mean by ‘projects?’
“Project” is a word we use instead of “problem.” Projects are something to be worked on everyday , while a problem is just...a problem. Projects call upon creative energy, which is what we need to be in harmony.
With projects, we can meditate, focus and be creative. With problems, we can only be bummed or look for a ‘fix.’
What are some specific projects people seek to address with Jin Shin Jyutsu?
Clients come for both acute and chronic projects, for projects involving everything from asthma, broken bones, and back pain, to anxiety, depression, digestion, as well as immune system issues, cancer, and fertility/reproductive.
How many sessions will I need?
We generally suggest 10 sessions as close together as possible, for example a person might come every day for 2 weeks to start out, or perhaps come 2 or 3 times a week for a total of ten sessions. This initiates and facilitates the movement of energy blockages. At the end of the 10 sessions, we re-evaluate; at that point people often come for a session once a week, once every two weeks, once a month or call when they need an energy tune-up.
An integral part of the process is learning self-help. This refers to the simple placement of the hands on your own body to help dissolve and move the accumulations in the physical body....self-help is an integral part of self-healing. The idea behind this website, DIYEnergyHealing.com is to provide people with self help resources, to empower them to work on their own self-healing, for free, from the comfort of home.
Is this Jiu Jyitsu?
No, isn’t that a martial art? This too is an art, in fact, Jyutsu, or Jyitsu, means art in Japanese; both deal with energy. The martial art is for self-defense against an outside object/person. The other is knowing one’s own energetic self from the inside. In JSJ we are turning inward for strength and awareness about oneself.
